Medical Foot Braces

From strained tendons along the outside of the foot and swollen ankles to torn ligaments in the joint and fractured bones, wearing a medical foot brace is one of the best long-term solutions to recovering and restoring function in the foot, particularly alongside physiotherapy.

With a range of medical foot braces the envy of any orthotist or clinic, Bauerfeind have something for virtually any issue that could affect the foot. If you're after a medical foot support then there's no better supplier than Bauerfeind.

Find answers to the most common questions.

What's the difference between a foot brace and an insole?

Insoles are inserts that sit inside your shoes to adjust and correct the posture of your foot while standing, walking and moving. These work purely by interacting with your sole. Foot braces differ here in that while they can often interact with the sole, they also work on other parts of the foot, and can be worn at any time, with or without shoes, ideal for wear during sleep as well as in combination with insoles for complete support.

What makes these products better than others?

Simply put, Bauerfeind have set the global standard for medical braces, compression and insoles. Using the highest quality materials to construct decades-refined products that have been clinically proven to address a vast range of issues. There's no substitute for quality, and Bauerfeind have that from the simplest strap to the largest brace.

How long do they last?

Bauerfeind's high quality construction and design mean that all of our products go the distance, especially when cared for properly. Below is a rough outline of how long products last before they start to lose their effectiveness over time.

Compression Stockings - 6 to 9 months of daily wear

Braces & supports - 1 to two years of daily wear

Insoles - 9 to 12 months of daily wear

It's important to note that this is a rough guideline, and each person's usage and general care can change the longevity of the product either way

How do I take care of these products?

Virtually all of our products can be machine washed on a cold gentle cycle and air dried out of direct sunlight. Putting them on and taking them off carefully is recommended, and for specific product care, refer to the product manual or contact our friendly staff.

What is the warranty for these products?

All supports and insoles come with a 12 month warranty, and compression stockings with a 3 month warranty for any manufacturers faults. At any point if you've got issues with the product or aren't sure if something is wrong, just contact our helpful staff.

How do I know they'll fit?

Bauerfeind have an incredibly extensive sizing system for our products based off of hundreds of thousands of patient measurements. The perfect anatomic fit system we use means that the supports are designed to fit your body, not the other way around. (We also offer custom options for a range of our products for those rare few who still can't fit into our sizing range).
