The MalleoTrain Plus Ankle Support is perfect for rolled ankles and strained ligaments. It stabilises the ankle without restricting movement, protecting it during sports like rugby, soccer, netball, running, and other sports and exercises. This ankle support combines soothing gel inserts for pain and swelling relief alongside its medical-grade compression weave for swelling and blood flow. It also incorporates a completely adjustable figure 8 strap to stabilise the ankle in active movement.

How can I prevent relapse of a major ankle injury?

A sprained ankle increases chances of re-injury by approximately 40-70%. However, you can decrease your risk of injury by a correct post-injury rehabilitation programme. We recommend strengthening exercises for the ankle joint to improve natural mobility and prevent relapse.

For active support and stabilisation, we recommend wearing Malleotrain Plus if you suffered a severe injury or the Malleotrain/Malleotrain S if it was a mild/moderate injury.

What is the difference between Malleotrain and Malleotrain Plus?

Malleotrain Plus is a combination of Malleotrain and MalleoTrain S. It features the viscoelastic gel pads of the Malleotrain and the elastic figure-of-eight strap system from Malleotrain S. Malleotrain Plus is beneficial for the treatment of ligament injuries such as torn ligament, Grade 2 and Grade 3 sprains, post-operative recovery and to prevent overpronation or supination of the foot.

Can you walk with a torn ligament in your ankle?

Overuse of the ankle joint can cause a painful ligament tear. Lateral ankle ligaments are at the highest risk of injury as they can rupture from the rolling inward and rolling outward movement of the foot.

If you have a mild pain from torn ligament, we recommend wearing MalleoTrain Plus. It provides increased ankle stability through the figure of eight strap system and a viscoelastic gel pad to gently massage the torn ligaments and promote recovery. It also allows full range of motion while recovering from a ligament injury, unlike the MalleoLoc range.
