Haglund's Deformity Braces

Haglund's deformity is a growth that's often uncomfortable, sometimes painful, that forms on the back of the heel just where the achilles tendon joins the bone. As it develops over time, it can be difficult to detect early, and often the pain is the first obvious symptom.

Bauerfeind have a range of supports to treat the issue, so if you're looking for a Haglund's deformity brace, then we can help you out with our supports and insoles made for each and every foot.

Find answers to the most common questions.

Will these fix the problem?

Haglund's deformity can be very difficult to reverse effectively. This means the most common and usually most effective method of treatment is alleviating the pain and minimising the strain on the heel itself so the body can recover properly. You won't see it fixed straight away, but over time it should start to recover.

Will these weaken my muscles?

While cheaper and less effective braces can cause an issue known as reliance (where the muscles become weaker and rely on the brace), Bauerfeind have perfected the blend of stability and movement. By restricting or immobilising specific parts of the ankle that need it, and freeing up the rest, you can continue to exercise, building and maintaining strength in the joint.

Can I wear these all day?

Virtually all our medical supports are designed to be worn for any length of time, whether it's half an hour after exercise to recover the muscle, or first thing in the morning to last thing at night.

How do I take care of these products?

Virtually all of our products can be machine washed on a cold gentle cycle and air dried out of direct sunlight. Putting them on and taking them off carefully is recommended, and for specific product care, refer to the product manual or contact our friendly staff.

What is the warranty for these products?

All supports and insoles come with a 12 month warranty, and compression stockings with a 3 month warranty for any manufacturers faults. At any point if you've got issues with the product or aren't sure if something is wrong, just contact our helpful staff.

How do I know they'll fit?

Bauerfeind have an incredibly extensive sizing system for our products based off of hundreds of thousands of patient measurements. The perfect anatomic fit system we use means that the supports are designed to fit your body, not the other way around. (We also offer custom options for a range of our products for those rare few who still can't fit into our sizing range).
