From fractures and jarred joints to tendonitis and nerve issues, your thumb might be a small and seemingly simple part of your body, but if it's injured it can stop you properly performing even the most basic of tasks. Wearing a thumb splint to keep it stable is one of the best ways to take care of it, making sure it's stable and recovering while you can focus on everything else.
Bauerfeind have pioneered work in thumb splints by utilising lightweight aluminium alloys with comfortable padding and anatomical unloading fro a completely customisable thumb splint right out of the box. Have a look at our range of thumb braces to make sure you're taking care of this little digit.
The thumb plays a unique and important role in your hand. It's the only digit that goes straight to the wrist, meaning that movement from your lower arm to the tips of your fingers almost always involve the thumb. Keeping this part of the hand immobilised/restricted can provide considerable pain relief and comfort.
The Beauty of our thumb supports is that they don't restrict the fingers at all. In fact, they still allow use of the top part of the thumb, so you can still type, grab and even write with the hand and get back to daily life as normal without pain.
There's a wide range of injuries and conditions that affect the thumb which can be easily cared for by a thumb brace. These include
- Tendonitis (skier's thumb)
- Joint pain
- Nerve problems
- De Quervaiyns tenosynovitis
- Post-op recovery
Virtually all of our products can be machine washed on a cold gentle cycle and air dried out of direct sunlight. Putting them on and taking them off carefully is recommended, and for specific product care, refer to the product manual or contact our friendly staff.
All supports and insoles come with a 12 month warranty, and compression stockings with a 3 month warranty for any manufacturers faults. At any point if you've got issues with the product or aren't sure if something is wrong, just contact our helpful staff.
Bauerfeind have an incredibly extensive sizing system for our products based off of hundreds of thousands of patient measurements. The perfect anatomic fit system we use means that the supports are designed to fit your body, not the other way around. (We also offer custom options for a range of our products for those rare few who still can't fit into our sizing range).
