A fractured elbow can cause a great deal of pain, and if not cared for properly, can lead to a whole range of issues like nerve pain, swelling, limited movement and reduced functionality. Wearing an elbow fracture brace can help to alleviate the pain and discomfort caused by a fracture, while also helping aid the recovery process.
Bauerfeind have spent decades with world-leading physiotherapists, orthopaedic surgeons and clinical researchers to develop the best products for medical support. Whether it's an elbow brace after dislocation you're needing, or a broken elbow brace for a fracture, they've got you sorted.
Shouldn't I be wearing a cast if it's fractured?
When the bone is fractured, keeping the affected area still and minimising movement is the best way to recover it. However, this is easier said than done, especially if the issue isn't severe enough to warrant a cast (your doctor can help you there). For those cases where it's a milder fracture or further down the road to recovery, compressing the area medically provides not only relief from swelling and pain, but also activates the surrounding muscles to ensure the best natural stability and support.
Can I still play sports in these?
Virtually all of our supports are designed for active use, whether it's on the sports field, in the gym, or just for a run around the block.
